About Us

Kōmaru was founded to connect Indigenous vision with the tools, capital, and expertise needed to accelerate climate solutions.
We sit at the intersection of community, capital, and climate — ensuring projects are grounded in tikanga, commercially strong, and globally relevant.
Like the stern of a waka, we help set the course. But the paddle remains in Indigenous hands.

Vision & Values

Our Vision
Māori and Indigenous leadership at the centre of the renewable economy, delivering resilience and prosperity for generations to come.

Our Values

  • Whakawhanaungatanga first — relationships before projects.

  • Kaupapa Māori foundation — tikanga and whakapapa guide every decision.

  • Equity retention — Indigenous communities keep ownership of their whenua and assets.

  • Local-first procurement — supporting local suppliers and whānau economies.

  • Guaranteed quality — high standards, transparent reporting, delivered at pace.
